Dr Eric Balaguer

Hi, my name is Eric Balaguer. I'm a hand surgeon in Miami, Florida.

What drives me as a surgeon is basically is the thrill of being able to improve people's injuries. As an athlete that started playing sports at a very young age, I was myself being a patient of several injuries, meniscus, both shoulders, some of my friends. So I always loved to be able to one day be the one fixing these injuries for some other athletes and that kind of then kind of developed into not just athletes but other people as well.

What first got me very interested in SupraFusion was the fact that you can get a very small anchor with an amazing pullout strength. So there are certain areas, especially the fingers for bowler plates, FTP repairs, where the anchors have to be very small. Unfortunately, you get those anchors that don't have good pullout strength, but this actually has changed the game in that respect.

It changed my practice in a way, as I just mentioned, being able to use a very small anchor with a great pullout strength now allows me to even come up with solutions that were not there before for me to do, especially with the collateral ligaments of the fingers.
